master of life in earth, sky and sea

…and the adventure begins, the most exciting and fulfilling journey imaginable

Raise the banner of the Lord

In our responsibility to lead, we somehow lose sight of this important element of our walk – too busy to pray.

It is the one who has the spirit of prayer that has the highest interest in the court of heaven; and the only way to retain it, is to keep it in constant employment. Apostasy begins in the closet: no one ever backslid from the life and power of Christianity who continued constant and fervent, especially in private prayer. He who prays without ceasing is likely to rejoice always.

I know that it takes all kinds of people to do the work that God has called us to do.  None of us can go alone, we work best in teams.  God makes His people able, and calls them to various services for the good of His church.   There will be those who are called to fight and there will be those who are called to pray and both are ministers of the Lord.  Understand this – without the prayer there is no encouragement to those that are fighting.  The strongest arm will get tired, only the hand who is stretched out to God will be sustained.

The church’s cause is more or less successful, as her friends are more or less strong in faith, and fervent in prayer. We should not be shy, either of asking help from others, or of giving help to others.

 O “hold up the hands” of the worker for Christ,

Encourage his soul by your prayer;
A hand clasp, a smile, or a word of good cheer,
Will help him life’s burdens to bear. — G. W.

  1. Good friend, your post is a blessing this morning. So true. Thanks and God bless.

  2. I pray that you will be encouraged today, even as you study, knowing that God is placing in you His Word that will bring life to all you share Him with!
