“Sacred lots”

The more you think about how important leadership is and all that it entails with social intelligence, cultural intelligence, partnership intelligence and Myers Briggs and my guru, Peter Drucker, the more helpful it is to see how many times leaders were chosen in the Bible because of lots that were drawn.

Basically I think that maybe everyone was so equal to the task, that the only difference would have been God‘s choice in the matter.  That was settled by drawing sacred lots.

I think that it also relieved pressure from the leadership in making decisions without bias or judgement.  Partiality plays a part in our human nature whether or not we think so.

Well, sacred lots do not look like they have a part to play in my immediate future, but I will keep the idea in my back pocket – just in case.
